About

Earth, our home planet, is a world unlike any other. The third planet from the sun, Earth is the only place in the known universe confirmed to host life.

With a radius of 3,959 miles, Earth is the fifth largest planet in our solar system, and is the only known planet for sure to have liquid water on its surface. Earth is also unique in terms of monikers. Every other solar system planet was named for a Greek or Roman deity, but for at least a thousand years, some cultures have described our world using the Germanic word “earth,” which means simply “the ground.”

The Earth.

Even though we are all aware of such information about this precious planet that we hold dear, we must admit that these are all superficial. We realize that our world is indeed mysterious, and in truth, what we know right now are just clues yet to be solved. So, we must be curious and determined to uncover the mysteries surrounding this planet.

In this blog we aim to inform all our readers about our home. Our blogs will be all about things related to Earth Science, most of which will hopefully make us appreciate our home planet even more.

Thank you for reading!
